Art Wood: More Than a Mortgage Guy — A Community Builder
When it comes to home financing, Art Wood is anything but typical.
With deep roots in Tucker and a passion for helping people succeed, Art brings heart, strategy, and a personal touch to every mortgage experience. He knows that buying a home isn’t just a transaction — it’s a life moment — and he’s committed to making the process simple, stress-free, and even joyful.
Art doesn’t just want to close a loan — he wants to build a relationship. Every client is treated like a friend as he works to find the right mortgage solution for their unique goals. His mission is simple: serve, guide, and celebrate alongside the families he helps.
Since 2005, Art has built a reputation for integrity, reliability, and results. Today, he leads as a Mortgage Loan Originator with Luminate Bank, working out of his office in downtown Tucker, GA.
A proud graduate of Erskine College, Art grew up right here in Tucker and still calls the community home, living in nearby Stone Mountain with his wife Karen and their two children, Trace and McKenna.
Beyond mortgages, Art’s impact stretches across the community. He’s the founder of Fuse Networking at Smoke Rise, an active member of the Tucker Business Association and the Lilburn Business Association, and serves on the board of Smoke Rise Country Club. He previously led Sunday worship services at Tucker First United Methodist Church for 15 years and continues to host community events like “Pints and Praise” to support character-building initiatives for young athletes through NG3.
He’s also a driving force behind beloved local events like Taste of Tucker and Tucker’s Chili Cook-Off — helping raise thousands for local charities.
For Art, it’s all connected: family, community, faith, and service. That’s what sets him apart. And that’s why when you work with Art, you’re not just getting a mortgage — you’re gaining a true partner for life.
